TFCC - fostering community harmony through education

The Trinity Foundation for Christianity and Culture (TFCC) is an ecumenical and international educational institution. We foster community harmony through education with a difference - by teaching Christians about their own faith, and that of their neighbours, so that they can live in a diverse society without fear and without compromising their faith - while respecting difference.

A Recent Quote By Our Patron, The Archbishop of Canterbury

"It seems to me that a firmly-rooted faith is one that can afford to be hospitable, welcoming, relaxed in the presence of other faiths...I think that Christians need to recover confidence in what they're contributing and what they believe in and from that basis they can engage much more creatively with people from other faiths."

The TFCC Awareness Course Logo

The TFCC Awareness Course has been written and designed by Bishop Michael Marshall and Revd Nadim Nassar for twenty-first century Christians. In line with our vision, the course promotes the understanding of what it means to hold fast to the Christian faith in a diverse society, while appreciating and respecting other world religions. New courses are published each year.

Each course is written from a Christian viewpoint, and compares Christian thought with Islamic and Judaic equivalents to build an awareness of 'the other'. The Course is designed to be taught in churches, parish halls or in any appropriate space, and is suitable for regular or occasional churchgoers, Christians outside the church, seekers and the undecided. Each course comprises seven sessions, each of which is expected to last sixty to ninety minutes, including time for questions and activities. Each session is accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation, a video presentation and a range of handouts.

The TFCC Awareness Course was officially launched at Lambeth Palace on Wednesday 20th September 2006.

The next course: "Jesus - a Rebel, a Radical, a Revolutionary - or 'just another nice man'?"

Jesus

We are now in the final stages of developing the next course for the TFCC Awareness Course.

The Christian faith is built around a person rather than a book. Who is this person who changed the face of history and keeps challenging our cultures and existence even today? Jesus Christ, who still captivates the imagination of modern writers like Dan Brown, the writer of the Da Vinci Code, and film-makers such as Mel Gibson, the Director and Producer of The Passion Of The Christ, remains a controversial figure in our global village.

This course explores the life and teachings of Jesus in a way you would never expect or imagine!

Update

Following the first pilot teaching of the course, here are a few statistics:

84% of those attending "were more aware now about how other faiths see Jesus”;
81% "had a better understanding of Jesus’ mission now” and
81% "felt closer to Jesus as a result of this course”!

The average attendance at the seven sessions was 43, and the final session was almost as well attended as the first.
