Our Awareness Course The TFCC Awareness Course has been written and designed by Bishop Michael Marshall and Revd Nadim Nassar to educate Christians for life in the twenty-first century. The course promotes the understanding of what it means to hold fast to the Christian faith in a diverse society, while appreciating and respecting other world religions.
Highlights:
- A unique approach, fusing views from the West and the Middle East
- Ecumenical language throughout
- Biblically based
- Adaptable text and structure allows you to contextualize the course for your group
- Written to appeal to churchgoers and non-churchgoers alike, avoiding 'churchy' language and jargon
- Dialogue in action: each session ends with great activities and challenges to take the teaching into daily life
- Includes insights into Jewish and Islamic beliefs and texts, all from a Christian perspective
New courses are published each year. Each course is written from a Christian viewpoint, to strengthen and deepen students' faith while considering Islamic and Jewish perspectives, and to build an awareness of 'the other'. The Course is designed to be taught in churches, parish halls or in any appropriate space, and is suitable for regular or occasional churchgoers, Christians outside the church, seekers and the undecided. Each course comprises seven sessions, each of which is expected to last sixty to ninety minutes, including time for questions and activities. Each session is accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation, a video presentation and a range of handouts.
Available CoursesThere are three courses available at present, with three more in the pipeline. Citizens of Two kingdoms: Life in the Global Village examines how Christians should respond to the challenges and opportunities of living in a culturally and religiously diverse society, the effects of globalisation and the resulting rise of fundamentalism. Sharing God? Judaism, Islam & Christianity explores the three Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) from a Christian perspective, looking at the similarities, the differences and the challenges we face together. Luke's Legacy: The Spirit in Action follows the writings of Luke as a guide to life as a Christian in a multi-faith, multi-cultural world, and raises the challenge of understanding the Scriptures, taking into consideration their context and relating that to our own. The Jesus File: Rebel, Radical and Revolutionary - or just another 'nice man'? will be available shortly. We are very keen to find new teachers and new venues for the TFCC Awareness Course.
