The TFCC Awareness Course, which is rooted in the Christian faith, educates Christians about their own faith and that of their neighbours. Fear of the 'other' is the result of insecurity and ignorance. People who are made secure in their own faith have nothing to fear from entering into dialogue with people of other faiths. People who have an understanding of their neighbours' beliefs will be able to enter into a much deeper and more meaningful dialogue. Only open and enlightened dialogue will have positive and long-lasting effects.

Students of the TFCC Awareness Course learn what it means to hold fast to their faith in a diverse society, while appreciating and respecting other world religions.

The first three course modules look at the world in the third millennium from a Christian point of view. They tackle subjects such as life in the global village, the cultural and historical roots of the three Abrahamic faiths, Christian and Islamic fundamentalism, and the greatly different Christian experiences in North America, Europe and the Middle East. These courses open students' eyes to the reality of living as a Christian in a non-Christian world.

Citizens of Two Kingdoms examines the twenty-first century's radical nature, with religion once more center-stage in many parts of the world, Christianity polarised in North America, and secularism and the cult of the individual sweeping Europe.

Sharing God? examines the common ground between Judaism, Islam and Christianity, as well as the differences.

Luke's Legacy turns to the writings of Luke; just as he lived in a multi-faith, multi-cultural world, so do we, and there are lessons to be learned from Luke about breaking barriers both in and outside the church.

The Jesus File looks beyond the familiarity, hindsight and romance to meet Jesus anew and to re-examine his mission and his earthly life, and the relevance of his teachings for the world today.

Mind The Gap (Just Connect), which is currently being piloted, offers seven mini-seminars on different topics, all connected by the gap between God's expectations and our reality. Topics include: Secularism, Fundamentalism, Reconciliation,Intimacy with God,and Authentic Christianity.

Two further courses are currently under development.

The TFCC Awareness Course strengthens and deepens students' faith, while considering Islamic and Judaic perspectives. We teach respect for other religions and remove hostility and the fear of others which is born of ignorance. It is only by learning about others that we can truly begin to understand ourselves.

We believe that, by changing their own attitudes, Christians can change the dynamics within society.

New courses are published each year. The courses are written to inform and enlighten both teachers and students, with a wealth of information that allows each teacher to tailor the programme to suit their church or venue.

The TFCC Awareness Course is designed to be taught in churches, cathedrals, schools, house groups, community centres, parish halls or in any appropriate space. The course is suitable for regular or occasional churchgoers, Christians outside the church, seekers and the undecided. Students will not need any great theology beyond a basic understanding of the major figures and events in the Bible.

Each course comprises seven sessions, each of which is expected to last sixty to ninety minutes, including time for questions and activities. Each session is accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation, a video presentation and a range of handouts.

Each teacher receives:
• a complete set of the Teacher's Course Notes
• student packs containing course outlines, handouts, session summaries, feedback forms, and extra reading and activity ideas
• a high quality PowerPoint presentation for each session
• a DVD containing 10-minute introductory videos for each session featuring Bishop Michael Marshall and Revd Nadim Nassar, the course creators
• Sample marketing materials including a promotional DVD
• membership of the TFCC Awareness Guild which provides full support and assistance to all teachers, including access to a special website that offers downloadable modules, updates and extras, as well as a dedicated Teacher's Forum.
